Youth STEAM Pathway

Software & Cloud Workflows

Coding logic, debugging, versioning habits, teamwork, cloud collaboration, and app development — the backbone of the modern digital economy.

Software development
Why This Pathway

Every industry runs on software

Technology occupations are projected to grow faster than average for all occupations per BLS. Cloud collaboration, version control, and coding logic are foundational skills whether a participant becomes a developer, a project manager, or a business owner.

  • Coding logic — from block-based Scratch to text-based Python and JavaScript
  • Version control — Git, branching, pull requests, and collaborative coding workflows
  • Cloud platforms — deployment, APIs, cloud storage, and infrastructure basics

Hands-On Infrastructure

Data Centers & Cloud Infrastructure

Our flagship campus features a mock data center environment so participants experience the physical and virtual layers of modern cloud computing — from rack-mounted servers to virtualization, networking, and deployment pipelines.

Mock Data Center Lab

Participants learn server hardware fundamentals — power, cooling, cabling, rack layout, and physical security — in a purpose-built simulation environment on campus.

Cloud Architecture & Virtualization

From virtual machines and containers to cloud-provider consoles, students explore how applications move from bare metal to globally distributed infrastructure.

Networking & Security

Hands-on exposure to routing, switching, firewalls, and secure network design — connecting cybersecurity concepts to real infrastructure operations.

Monitoring & Uptime

Students learn systems monitoring, alerting, and incident response — the operational side of keeping real-world services reliable and performant.
